Conner Wright scored all 10 of Greencastle’s first-quarter points and the Devils trailed only 14-10 at the end of one. Jackson Wright then converted a dunk to open the second period to make it 14-12, but his team managed only 14 more points the rest of the way.

Chambersburg coach Shawn Shreffler said, “Greencastle competed very hard tonight — coach (Todd) Stephens had his guys ready to play.”

Noah Yeager and Jacob Bassham hit threes; then after a G-A score by Eli Sterling, Eli Shearer scored on a fast break, Bassham hit a layup, Nevin Yeager made 1 of 2 free throws and Bassham knocked down another 3-pointer for a 31-16 bulge.

“We adjusted to the style of play coming out of halftime and executed much better,” Shreffler said. “We were more connected both offensively and defensively. It was a good learning opportunity for us.”

Shearer got hot in the third, when he scored 12 of his 19 points. He hit a three, finished a fast break, then had another 3-pointer bounce around and in for a personal 8-0 run.

For Chambersburg (10-1), which won its eighth straight game, Bassham scored 15 points and 11 players in total scored points.

Greencastle (2-9), which had only three players score, got 15 points from Conner Wright, 7 from Sterling and 4 from Jackson Wright.
