Mid Penn tournament: The Mid Penn Conference held its girls golf championship event on Wednesday at Dauphin Highlands Golf Club.

Greencastle-Antrim’s Sydney Barnes posted a score of 98 to place 11th in the event. That enabled her to qualify for the District 3 Championships, which will be held Oct. 8-9 at Honey Run Golf Club.

Barnes was consistent, scoring nine bogeys and two pars, on the par 3 No. 8 and the par 4 No. 13. She shot 48 on the front and 50 on the back.

G-A coach Jeremy Eby said, “I’m just really proud of Sydney’s competitive spirit in achieving one of her season goals, making it to districts.”
