G-A roundup: Field hockey, volleyball, girls soccer win by shutout

Greencastle-Antrim 2, Waynesboro 0: Ainsley Swindell had a good game on offense and the Blue Devil defense did the rest in a shutout win over the Maidens in a Mid Penn Colonial contest Tuesday afternoon.

Swindell connected for a goal in the second quarter, and again in the fourth. She was assisted by Louise Narducci on her first shot, and by Abbi Cunningham on the second.

Greencastle (6-3, 4-1 MPC) got six saves by goalie Jade Erazo.

Greencastle-Antrim 3, Big Spring 0: The Bulldogs played the Blue Devils tough in an earlier 3-2 defeat, but Greencastle had its way in the Mid Pen Colonial match on Tuesday night, winning games of 25-17, 25-16 and 25-19.

G-A coach Corry Eagler said, “We had a great night at the net, with many players getting kills and very few hitting errors. Kiley (Burkholder) led the way with eight kills, no hitting errors and six aces (plus 15 service points and 8 digs).”

For Greencastle (5-3, 4-2 MPC), Lauren Pool had 6 kills and a block, Gracie Trobaugh had 10 points and 6 digs, Alayna Welsh had 6 digs and Madeline Eagler made 25 assists.


Haley Noblit

Greencastle-Antrim 4, Camp Hill 0: The defense put up a shutout and Avery Parks led the offense as the Blue Devils took care of Camp Hill in a non-league soccer game at Kaley Field on Tuesday night.

“We played our best game of the season tonight,” G-A coach Chris Noblit said.

Parks exploded for three goals, giving her 10 goals for the season.

Haley Noblit contributed a goal and an assist, while Courtney Andruczk and Karleigh Bubeck each had an assist.

The Blue Devils are 7-1.
