Blazers blank Heritage, 4-0

HAGERSTOWN, Md. – The Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers scored two goals in each half and defeated Heritage Academy 4-0 Monday in a Mason Dixon Christian Conference boys soccer game.

The Blazers (12-0, 7-0 MDCC) got goals from four players in staying on top of the MDCC standings. Landon Kellogg, Wyatt Pine, Josh Rowe and Mario Wiesman found the net for the Blazers.

“(Heritage) Coach (Spencer) Propst (a CVCS graduate) did a good job adjusting his team to match up with us,” Blazers coach Stan Hott said. “Heritage man-marked Wyatt and Mario but forgot about Landon Kellogg. Landon had his best game of the season. He distributed the ball well and had great field sight.”

Kellogg, a freshman, added an assist. Pine, Sam Hepler and Felix Kauffeldt also provided assists.

Goaltender Gabe Beckering was tested little by defensive-minded Heritage as he was called on to make two saves.

The Blazers travel to face second-place Calvary Christian today.
