Blazers strike early to beat Carroll

The Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers scored within the game’s first few minutes and cruised to an 8-4 victory over Carroll Christian in a non-league boys soccer game Tuesday.

The Blazers (10-0) constructed a 6-0 lead before Carroll Christian dented the scoreboard late in the first half. They led 8-2 until Carroll scored a pair of late goals.

Mario Wiesman scored three goals and Wyatt Pine added two goals to lead the Blazers. Max Crawford and Bradley Stayman each scored a goal, and Nathan Minnier converted a penalty kick.

Crawford picked up three assists, Pine had two, and Wiesman, Josh Rowe and Landon Kellogg earned an assist apiece.

Joe Matthews scored three goals and added an assist for Carroll (6-3).

Blazer goalkeeper Gabe Beckering made 12 saves.
