GIRLS BASKETBALL
Greencastle-Antrim 56, Northern York 40: The Blue Devils ran their record to 4-0 overall and 3-0 in the Mid Penn Colonial with a good road win over the Polar Bears on Wednesday night.

Sayge Wilhide

G-A’s Sayge Wilhide had an awesome game from long range, bombing in eight 3-pointers on just 12 attempts, for a 24-point salvo. She was supported by Lauren Pool, who had 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Greencastle had a good first quarter and led 17-8, but Northern pulled it back to a 28-25 G-A lead by halftime. The Bears briefly took the lead in the third; however, the Blue Devils stretched their lead back out with an 18-9 advantage in the quarter.

“It was great to get a road win,” Blue Devil coach Mike Rhine said. “It was a physical game, but our upperclassmen really ground it out. Sayge with eight threes and Lauren with a double-double led to a great result in a tough place to play.”

Also, Mia Libby had 7 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds; Haley Noblit contributed 8 points and 6 assists; Jenna Powell had 7 rebounds and Wilhide also had 6 boards.
