G-A roundup: Girls soccer raises record to 8-0

Greencastle 11, Big Spring 0: The Blue Devils raised their record to 8-0 (7-0 MPC) with a Mid Penn Colonial blowout win over the Bulldogs on Thursday night at Kaley Field.

Courtney Andruczk and Haley Noblit led the offensive barrage — Andruczk had 3 goals and 2 assists and Noblit added 3 goals and 1 assist.

Other players who got into the scoring mix included Sayge Wilhide (2 goals), Maddie Baine (1 goal), Hannah Douglas (1 goal, 1st of her career), Rylee Henson (1 goal), Avery Parks (3 assists), and Mia Libby and Olivia Russell each had 1 assist.

Hannah Douglas had 1 goal (first career goal for the senior)

Greencastle 5, Big Spring 0: Adam Murr got on a hot streak, scoring three times in a 28-minute span to lift the Blue Devils to an easy win over Big Spring in a Mid Penn Colonial game Tuesday afternoon.

Greencastle (5-1-1, 5-1-1 MPC) led 4-0 at halftime, with Cale Stover opening the scoring in the 8th minute, and Murr hitting the net three times. Victor Heffner was the second-half scorer.

Nate Kirkwood was credited with a pair of assists, while Heffner, Theo-Gerald Oreste and Dalton Noblit each had one helper. Gavin Davidson made 2 saves and Ryland Zimmerman made 3 to preserve the team’s fourth shutout of the season.

Blue Devil coach Aric Bruner said, “The boys came out and took care of the business we needed to take care of. I thought Adam Murr had a tremendous game. Kirkwood, Heffner and Theo all had a hand in the heavy attack we had today. Our defense was able to keep yet another shutout as well.”

Greencastle 3, West Perry 0: The Blue Devils overpowered the Mustangs in a Mid Penn Colonial match Tuesday, taking games of 25-14, 25-16 and 25-12.

G-A (5-2, 5-2 MPC) racked up 15 aces, led by 4 each from Kalea Fugate and Mckenzie Shatzer, who also had 16 assists.

Also for the Blue Devils, Gia Dasilva had 9 kills, Madison Kirkwood had 5 kills and 4 digs, Mackenzi Branchman blocked 3 shots and Alayna Welsh contributed 4 digs.
