Greencastle 2, Waynesboro 1, OT: Taylor Appenzellar struck for the game-winning goal with just 2:48 left in overtime to lift the Blue Devils over the rival Maidens on Wednesday in a Mid Penn Colonial game.

Abbi Cunningham got G-A (2-2) on the board first, scoring in the second period after a pass by Sydney Orndorff. Waynesboro tied it on Caroline Crutchfield’s goal with 1:44 left in regulation.

With overtime winding down, Appenzellar took a pass from Olivia Winslow and knocked in the winning tally

“I am proud of how the girls are starting work really well together and connect on the field,” Greencastle coach Emiley Maiorana said. “When we are in tough games, I have full confidence that the girls will respond and come out on top.”
