Fannett Metal 46 Forbes Road 28

Waterfall, Pa. – A strong second half carried the Fannett Metal Tigers (9-8, 5-6 ICC) to a 46 to 28 win over Forbes Road (3-12, 1-10 ICC). The Tigers were trailing by 3 at halftime came out in the second half and outscored the Cardinals 35 to 14. Brynn Hartman led the Tigers with 17 points. Lynnzie McClure scored 11 points and Hailey Hill added 9 points in the win. The Cardinals were led by Quincy McMath with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Madison Hays added 6 points and 15 rebounds. Forbes Road Coach Jamie Gelvin said, “We started strong and won the first two quarters but had too many turnovers in the second half to have a chance to win the game. Fannett Metal is a good team and you can’t turn the ball over that many times against a good team. Harlie Strait did a great job defending Brynn Hartman until she got into foul trouble.  Once she did, Brynn went off and scored 11 of her 17 points in the fourth quarter. She’s a great ball player.” JV – FM 34 FR 21. (FM – Abby Harris 11 points and Ashlin Walter 10 points. FR – Heidi Strait 9 points). Forbes Road will host Mount Union on Friday at 6:00. Fannett Metal will travel to Shalom Christian Academy on Saturday at 4:30.
