Greencastle-Antrim 54, Waynesboro 27: The Blue Devils jumped to a 23-7 lead after one period and 34-12 by halftime to run past the Maidens in a Mid Penn Colonial matchup Tuesday night.
Greencastle’s pressure defense, aided by a trio of 3-pointers by Sayge Wilhide and 6 points from Ashley Noblit, caused the big first-period lead.
Mia Libby led the scoring for the Blue Devils (11-7, 7-4 MPC) with 13 points, and added 4 assists and 5 steals. Wilhide totaled 12 points, 4 rebounds and a pair of assists.
Noblit finished with a season-high 10 points, plus 6 steals and 4 assists; Lauren Poole added 9 points and 8 boards; and Olivia Winslow contributed 11 rebounds.
In the fourth quarter, Sydney Barnes (4) and Kiersten Britner (2) scored their first varsity points.
Waynesboro 59, Greencastle-Antrim 45: The Blue Devils trailed by only two points at halftime, but the Indians outscored them 15-5 in the third quarter to take control and went on to win the Mid Penn Colonial game Tuesday night.
The Blue Devils are 2-16 (1-10 MPC), while ‘Boro is 10-7 (6-4 MPC).
