Greyhounds get back on winning track over Bubblers

Boiling Springs—Shippensburg broke open a close contest in the final quarter to defeat Boiling Springs 56-42 Tuesday night in a Mid Penn Colonial contest.

Boiling Springs got to within four in the fourth quarter but an Anthony Smith basket and three-point play by Collin Taylor put the game out of reach for the Greyhounds.“It wasn’t pretty, but we’ll take an ugly road win,” said Greyhound head coach Ray Staver about his 397th career win.

The Greyhounds, (9-3, 6-1MPC) held the Bubbler’s leading scorer Trey Martin to 14 points, eight below his average.

Shippensburg placed three starters in double digits led by Jayden Statum and Smith with 14 points each.  Taylor added 10.

For Boiling Springs, (4-8, 1-5MPC) Carson Garvey and Gavin Donley each added 8 points in a losing effort.

The Greyhounds travel to 5-8 Mechanicsburg Wednesday night before returning home Friday night to take on rival Big Spring.
