Hershey 116, Chambersburg 54: The Trojans were able to take first place in three events, but the powerful Hershey girls team had a considerable advantage in depth and won the Mid Penn Commonwealth meet Tuesday.
Liv Terrazas captured wins in a pair of events for Chambersburg (0-6, 0-5 MPC) — the 50 freestyle in 30.38, and the 100 backstroke in 1:10.48.
Layne Rydbom finished first in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:13.74, and also placed second in the 200 IM.
Trojan coach Donnie Miller said, “Liz Terrazas and Chace Johnson both had terrific meets today. LT won two races and swam her best 100 back of the season. Chace had two personal bests and continues to impress me with her determination and ability to compete. Layne also had some nice swims.”
Hershey 100, Chambersburg 70: The Trojans picked up three individual wins and a first in one relay, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the depth of Hershey in a Mid Penn Commonwealth meet Tuesday afternoon.
Aidan McMillen earned two firsts for the Trojans (4-2, 3-2 MPC), hitting the wall first in the 50 freestyle in 25.76 and in the 100 backstroke in 1:03.00. He also anchored the winning 200 medley relay team to a time of 1:54.75.
C.J. Pong, Michael Johnson and Robert Pong were also on that team. C.J. Pong grabbed the other first with an effort of 2:04.29 in the 400 free.
Colby Estep had a pair of runner-up finishes (200 and 400 free), and other seconds went to C.J. Pong (200 IM), Robert Pong (100 butterfly) and Gavin Vink (100 free).
