Waterfall, Pa. – Southern Fulton defeated Forbes Road (0-5, 0-4 ICC) 49 to 29 in an ICC matchup Friday evening. The Indians (4-3, 3-1 ICC) were led by Josh Stocker with 10 points and 5 Steals. Isaac Fitz had 6 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 steals. Gabe Stotler added 6 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals. Forbes was led by Shane Shepis with 8 points. JV – SF 35 FR 16 (SF Pittman 15 points) Rebounds – FR 24 SF 22 Turnovers – FR 30 SF 11. Forbes Road returns to action on January 6, when they travel to Hancock. Southern Fulton will host Berlin on Monday at 6:00.

McConnellsburg 73 Fannett Metal 69

Willow Hill, Pa. – The Spartans visited Fannett-Metal on Friday night in an ICC Match-up.  Both teams were looking for their first ICC win of the season.  It was back and forth all game.  The Tigers led after the first quarter 17-15, but the Spartans exploded for 26 points in the second quarter to go into halftime with a 41-35 lead.  The Tigers closed the gap to 55-52 at the end of three quarters of play.  With less than three minutes to play the Tigers took the lead but couldn’t hold on as the Spartans came away with a 73-69 hard fought victory.  Tiger Coach Paul Coffman commented, “It was a great game between two young teams trying to gain some momentum as we head into the final month of the season.  Both teams played hard and made some big plays at crucial times, but it was Mcconnellsburg that made a few more plays at the end to come away with the victory. ”

The Spartans put three players in double figures tonight: Zander Sipes 22 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals; Walter Funk 20 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks; and Wyatt Hershey 17 points.  Kyle Romig also chipped in 9 points and 6 rebounds. Fannett Metal Coach Paul Coffman stated, “We wanted to key on Funk and Sipes, but Wyatt Hershey and Kyle Romig hit a couple big shots that weren’t expected.  Funk nailed 6 three’s on the evening.”

For the Tigers, Hunter Hill led the way with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 steals.  Luke Coffman had a great all around game with 14 points, 8 assists and a pair of steals.  Ayden Warren played solid defense throughout, while adding 8 assists.  Wyatt Appleby hit for 3 treys to finish with 11 points and 6 rebounds.  Colton Friese also finished in double figures with 11 points and Darston Warren chipped in 8 points to go along with 7 rebounds and a pair of charges.  Spartan Coach Josh Lowery said, “This was a much needed team win!” The Tigers host CVCS today at 4:00.  McConnellsburg will host Greencastle today at 3:00.
