Willow Hill, Pa. – MSD beat Fannett Metal 78-56 in the finals of the 47th Annual Christmas Tournament. The Orioles jumped out to a 29-9 first quarter lead. Tiger Coach Paul Coffman commented, “They just took it to us in the first quarter. They shot really well, out-rebounded us, and converted turnovers into easy points. But after the first quarter we played right with them for the rest of the game. There were a lot of positives we can take from this tournament to build on as we head into league play next week.” Hunter Hill had another big night for the Tigers with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 steals. Colton Friese had 11 points; Luke Coffman had 8 points and 6 assists; and Wyatt Appleby chipped in 6 points. Darston Warren played a great all around game with 7 points and 8 rebounds to go along with a couple charges. The Orioles put four players in double figures led by Enow Otto with 19 points and Jaden Joseph 14 points.
The All Tournament Team was Enow Otto and Jaden Joseph from MSD, Brayden Parker from Shalom Christian Academy, Walker Funk and Zander Sipes from McConnellsburg, and Tournament MVP Hunter Hill from Fannett-Metal.
The Tigers will be back in action, when they host McConnellsburg on January 3rd.

Willow Hill, Pa. – McConnellsburg defeated Shalom Christian Academy in the consolation round of the FM Christmas Tournament. Walker Funk led the Spartans with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 blocks. Zander Sipes added 13 points, 5 assists and 7 steals. McConnellsburg Coach Josh Lowery said, “I was really pleased with our three freshmen tonight. Wyatt Hershey gave us 9 points, while Kyle Romig added 4 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals and Landon Ramsey added 4 points and 2 steals.” McConnellsburg will travel to Fannett Metal on January 3 at 6:00.
