Blazer girls fall to Calvary

CRESAPTOWN, Md. – Calvary Christian finished with a 21-point fourth quarter and defeated the Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers 59-35 in a Mason-Dixon Christian Conference girls basketball game Tuesday evening.

Calvary led the Blazers (4-1, 1-1 MDCC) 28-12 at the half, and although the Blazers chipped into the lead in the third period, the Eagles put the game away by outscoring them 21-11 in the fourth.

“You can’t win games shooting 14-of-55 from the field,” Blazers coach Dylan Ward said.

Kyleigh Teal and Laurel Reitz each scored 11 points for the Blazers. Amber Yanosik added five points, Sarah Vandersleen four, and Jalen Moats and Mollee Stake two apiece. Reitz had nine rebounds, Moats eight, Teal seven and Vandersleen five.
