Conemaugh Township 3 Southern Fulton 2

Warfordsburg, Pa. – For the second time in three days the Lady Indians of Southern Fulton (11-5) faced a top team in District V and came up just short. The Lady Indians of Conemaugh Township traveled to Warfordsburg Monday afternoon and despite being outshot 15 to 10 took home the hard-earned win. Lydia Hiller scored both goals for Southern Fulton, one off of an assist from Lauren Varner. Goalkeeper Jenna Dere recorded seven saves.

The Lady Spartans (9-7) defeated Berlin on Monday night by a score of 2-0.  Lainnie Glenn and Abby Hann scored for the Spartans, with Izzy Keefer picking up an assist.

Southern Fulton 7 Johnstown Christian Academy 3

Davidsville, Pa. – Southern Fulton (12-5) made the long trip to JCS and picked up a non league win 7 to 3. Darwin Reyes and Luke McKelvey led the Indians with 3 goals a piece. Carson Elbin scored and had 2 assists. Reyes contributed with 2 assists, AJ Smith, Tyler Youngblood, and McKelvey all added one. Southern Fulton outshot JCS 31 to 10. Lucas Haynes scored all 3 goals for JCS. Southern Fulton Coach Hervey Hann commented, “At times we played excellent ball and other times we really slacked off. We looked great, when we were playing well.” The Indians finish the regular season on Thursday, when they travel to Fannett Metal for a 4:00 start.

Everett 3 Fannett Metal 2

Everett, Pa. – Fannett Metal (10-6, 5-4 ICC) made a valiant comeback that fell just short as they lost to Everett 3 to 2. Down 3 to 0 at the half, the Tiger defense held the Warriors scoreless in the second half and Tanner Siebert scored twice to tighten the game. But that was as close as they could get. Matt Cessna scored twice for the Warriors and Brady Foor scored a goal in the win. Tiger Coach Tom Otis commented, “We showed a lot of character to come back from 3 to 0 down and almost tie it up.  I was very impressed by how we passed the ball and created numerous chances.  We were unlucky not to finish in the first half but finally scored two in the second which we definitely deserved.” Fannett Metal will host Southern Fulton on Thursday at 4:00.
