Northern York 3, Chambersburg 2: The non-league opponents scored all five goals in the first half and the Trojans came out on the losing end against the Polar Bears.

Gianna Weigel
Northern (12-6) scored first, then Layne Kimple tied it for Chambersburg (10-6), on an assist by Gianna Weigel. The Bears went ahead again, and Aubrey Pyne tied it at 2-2. But Northern scored again 5:27 until halftime.
Chambersburg coach Ed Franchi said, “I think the short layoff hurt us. We dind’t come out ready to play and they did. We did respond to two of their goals, and we definitely had our chances in the second half, but we just couldn’t find the equalizer.”
FIELD HOCKEY
Carlisle 1, Chambersburg 0: The Thundering Herd reversed an earlier 1-0 defeat to the Trojans by edging them on Monday afternoon in a Mid Penn Commonwealth game.
Chambersburg is 2-15, and finished 1-1 in the Commonwealth. It has one game left, on Wednesday at Mechanicsburg.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Pottsville Tournament: Chambersburg traveled to Pottsville on Saturday and came home with a 3-5 record.
The Trojans lost 2-0 to Fleetwood, lost 2-0 to Panther Valley, split with Marion Mercy 1-1 and defeated Deiruff 2-0, and did not get out of pool play.
“We just couldn’t seem to get anything really rolling,” Chambersburg coach Ty Frelin said. “We have a nice little break here (until Thursday) to get some good gym time and get things ready for the postseason. We need to get revitalized a little bit.”
