Carroll Christian converted a penalty kick in the final minutes and handed the Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers a 3-2 loss Monday in a non-league boys soccer game.
It was a game of two diverse halves for the Blazers (1-3-1). They led 2-0 at halftime but gave up three-second half goals to the Patriots from Westminster, Md.
“We came out strong,” Blazers coach Stan Hott said. “We seemed to have found our chemistry that has been missing. We just did not have enough fuel in our tanks to finish the game.”
Kenneth Hott scored both Blazer goals, moving him closer to the 100-goal plateau for his career. Hott scored on a pass from Max Crawford to put the Blazers on top; then he scored again on an assist from Elijah Randolph.
Goalkeeper Jack Gabler came up with 30 saves for the Blazers.
