Midd-West 1 Forbes Road 0

Selinsgrove, Pa. – The Forbes Road (0-1) field hockey team kicked off their season with a road trip to take on the Midd-West Mustangs.  Due to new stadium construction at Midd-West, the match took place at Selinsgrove High School.  At the halfway point, the game remained scoreless despite FR having a 6-0 lead over the Mustangs in shots on goal. At 16:34 mark in the second half the Mustangs were able to move the ball into scoring position and find the cage. Sydney Keister scored on a rebounded shot to push the Mustangs into the lead. The Cardinals worked the ball from all angles for the remaining minutes, but were unable to capitalize before the final whistle.

The FR squad will be back in action for their home opener next Saturday with Hempfield Area at noon. The Cardinals, who have been working through some injuries, according to Coach Horne, plans to be back at full strength to take on the Spartans.
