Waynesboro baseball advances to district semifinals with 2-0 shutout of Red Lion

The Waynesboro Indians  are headed to the District 3 semifinals with a 2-0 win over Red Lion at Waynesboro on Thursday.. Wyatt Freeman pitched six scoreless innings allowing six hits and striking out seven.

The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fifth when the Indians scored on a Lions error.Waynesboro added another run on an RBI double by Hunter Clever

Freeman who posted an 0.49 ERA in the regular season improved to 8-1. Hunter Clever struck out the side in the the top of the seventh to earn the save.

The Indians improve to 19-2 on the season and will play the winner of Friday’s Dallastown/Wilson game in a 6A semifinal game at a time and site to be determined.
