Trojans win 3 events: Chambersburg took a bunch of high places on Saturday at the 58th annual Cedar Cliff Relays, and finished second to Carlisle in the team standings.
Chambersburg won the shuttle hurdles event with ease, nearly 7 seconds faster than the runner-up team. Bre’ya Clopper, Sydnie Gilbert, Caroline Hance and Manaisha Houser had a time of 1:08.54.
The 4 x 100 relay team of Shanelle Burrowes, Taryn Robinson, Aniyah Jones and Jacelyn Jones won in 50.81. And the shot put team of Madison Yost and Madison Ogden combined for 63-1.75 to claim first place.
The Trojans also had five teams place second — discus (Yost and Kaliah Leisher, 177-4), 4 x 200 (Tayah Warren, A. Jones, J. Jones and Burrowes, 1:47.63), 4 x 800 (Keira Whitehead, Anna DeGrange, Allie List and Maddie Kinton, 10:24.74), 4 x 400 (J. Jones, Warren, List and Kinton, 4:24.77) and the elite mile (Emilea Alleman, 6:07.81).
Taking thirds were the distance medley team of Olivia Rieck, Clopper, DeGrange and Whitehead (13:20.41), the sprint medley team of Gilbert, A. Jones, Robinson and Natalie Aquino-Flores (4:40.93), high jump duo of Josey Reineman and Robinson (9-2) and Amelya Mauriello in the elite mile (6:12.69).

Chambersburg earns 2 wins: At the Cedar Cliff Relays on Saturday, the Trojan boys placed first in a pair of events.
The pole vault team of Tyler Luther and Enrique Del Leon-Raya totaled 23-0 to take first place, and the shot put duo of Brock Harmon and Garner Funk totaled 92-6 to capture a win.
Chambersburg placed second in five events, including discus (Nathan Hoffeditz and Harmon) at 237-7; distance medley (Zack Yourkavitch, Kenan Korkutovic, Luke Myers and Trentin Overcash) in 11:21.7; 4 x 200 (Ron Felipe, Ethan Ott, Kevin Lee and Korkutovic) in 1:36.20; javelin (Kyere Morton, Funk) with combined throws of 253-5; and 4 x 400 (Myers, Ott, Cole Runyon and Korkutovic) in 3:40.10.
Taking thirds were the 4 x 100 team of Luther, Ott, Kisla Hilaire and Lee (46.0) and the triple jump duo of Adrieon Shines and Payden Leonard in 74-5.75.
The Trojans sent a pair of sprint relay teams to the Penn Relays. On Friday, the group of Jayden Jones, Karter Jones, Donovan Moses and Tyeshawn Worrell finished second in their heat with a time of 43.44.
Saturday, the 4 x 400 relay of Karter Jones (52.5 split), Worrell (50.9), Aaron Maynard (51.7) and Diontae Barbour (51.2) won their heat in 3:26.57.
Trojan coach Bob Walker said, “Diontae provided a gutsy finish to hold off a fast-closing runner for the win.”

BASEBALL
Dover 5, Chambersburg 4, 9 innings: The Eagles scored a run in the top of the ninth inning Saturday afternoon and that was the difference in a non-league loss for the Trojans at Greene Township Park.
Chambersburg (1-13) held leads of 1-0 and 3-2, but trailed 4-3 heading into the bottom of the seventh before scoring a run on an error by Dover (8-7).
Starter Mason Yeager held the Eagles scoreless for the first five innings, but gave up two in the sixth. Elijah Snyder came on and allowed a two-run home run by Anthony Friday in the top of the seventh and a run-scoring double by Dallas Evans in the ninth.
Yeager allowed only three hits, while Snyder registered seven strikeouts.
For the Trojans, Hunter Stevens was 3-for-5, Snyder was 2-for-4, Orlian Roman Reyes hit a double, Roman Reyes and Brady Hughes had RBIs and Hughes, Bryson Byers and Brady Stumbaugh hit singles.
Chambersburg had nine hits to Dover’s seven.

SOFTBALL
Trojans go 1-2: Chambersburg had an unexpectedly rough day Saturday at the Big Spring Tournament, dropping its first two games and placing seventh.
West Perry humbled the Trojans 11-0 in the opener, Shippensburg edged Chambersburg 4-3 in the first round of consolations and the Trojans beat Red Lion, 11-6, in the game for seventh place.
The highlight for the Trojans (11-3) was that junior Taylor Myers produced the 100th hit of her career in the final game.

Shippensburg placed fifth in the tournament and Greencastle-Antrim defeated Exeter Township 10-9 in the championship game.
