Everett 12 Fannett Metal 11 (8 Innings)

Willow Hill, Pa. – Fannett Metal (1-7, 0-6 ICC) continues to play tough baseball but came up just a little short in a 12 to 11 extra inning loss to Everett. The Tigers took a 5-1 lead into the 3rd inning when Everett erupted for (10) unanswered runs on (10) hits , a sac fly and a walk.  FM Coach Paul Coffman said, “Tip your hat to Everett, they hit everything we threw at them that inning.  Also give my team credit, we could have folded after giving up (10) runs in that inning but this team has a lot of fight in them.”  The Tigers began chipping away at the lead adding three runs in the 3rd and 5th innings.  Frankie Ryder’s three run double in the 5th tied the game at 11-11.  “Credit to Luke Coffman who got us out of the 3rd inning and then held the Warriors scoreless over the next three innings to allow us to comeback.”  The Tigers had chances in the 6th and 7th to take the lead but couldn’t get the timely hit. In the 8th, Karson Reffner led off with a single, moved to second on a sac bunt and scored on a two out hit by Trenton Clites.  The Warriors brought in Jared Colledge who sat the Tigers down in order in the 8th to take home the save.  Macen Akers got credit for the win while Wyatt Appleby was tagged with the loss.  The Tigers host NBC tomorrow (4/18) at 4:30.
