Fannett Metal 10 Rockwood 3

Willow Hill, Pa. – Fannett Metal (2-0) hosted non league Rockwood and downed the Rockets 10 to 3. After falling behind 3-0 in the first, the Lady Tigers used a 5 run third and 4 run fourth inning to break the game open. Klarissa Miley picked up the win coming in relief to start the 3rd inning. The Tigers had 5 players with multiple hits, all with 2 each. Lynnzie McClure had 2 hits and scored 3 runs. Morgan Ritchey added 2 doubles along with a double by Miley and 2 RBIs. The Tigers played 7 flawless innings on defense. Fannett Metal will travel to Southern Huntingdon on Tuesday at 4:30.

Northern Bedford 11 Fannett Metal 3

Loysburg, Pa. – Fannett Metal (0-2, 0-2 ICC) traveled to Northern Bedford and fell to the Panthers 11 to 3 in an Inter County Conference matchup. The Tigers led (3-2) going into the 5th when NBC rallied for five runs in the 5th and added four more insurance runs in the 6th.  Despite the loss, Coffman saw some bright spots from today’s game.  “Appleby was solid through four innings and we continue to make good contact at the plate.  Defensively, we made some nice plays in the field, but we also we made some costly mistakes at crucial times in the game.”

Leading the way offensively with two hits each were Kyler Goshorn, Frankie Ryder and Rylin Sharar.  Ryder had a pair of doubles, while Goshorn and Colton Friese each had one. Friese and Billy Peppernick each had one RBI. The Tigers travel to Southern Huntingdon on Tuesday for a 4:30 start.
