Tussey Mt. 9 Fannett Metal 8

Saxton, Pa. – Fannett Metal (0-1, 0-1 ICC) traveled to Tussey Mt. and dropped a league game 9 to 8. With the game tied (8-8) in the bottom of the 7th, Tussey’s Caleb Barnett led off with a two strike hit by pitch.  After a strikeout, stolen base and ground out he moved to 3rd to set up the winning run.  With a full count, Tussey’s Brady Villa hit a slow roller to short and beat out the throw scoring Barnett from 3rd to win the game.

The game saw several lead changes from the 2nd inning on.  “We out hit the Titans but we didn’t play as clean defensively in the field”, said Tigers Coach, Paul Coffman.  Kyler Goshorn started and went four innings giving up only (2) hits and no earned runs.  Leading the way offensively for the Tigers with two hits each were Kyler Goshorn, Wyatt Appleby and Derek Rebuck.  Both Appleby and Rebuck knocked in a pair of runs.  Billy Peppernick, Luke Coffman and Frankie Ryder all had RBI singles.  Hunter Hill and Luke Coffman both scored a pair of runs each.  Fannett Metal returns to action Tuesday at Southern Huntingdon at 4:30.
