McConnellsburg, Pa. – McConnellsburg (7-14) outscored CVCS in each period in route to a 64 -42 non league matchup win. Matty Ross led the Spartans with 28 pts. and 12 rebounds. Katelyn Truax added 20 points and 17 rebounds. CVCS was led by Amber Yanosik with 20 points and Laurel Reitz added 12 points. Spartan Coach Dot Doyle commented, “After last night’s loss these girls were determined to win tonight. They played well together and got the win. I am very proud that they were able to bounce back and get this 5th win out of our last 6 games.” McConnellsburg will travel to Southern Fulton in their final game of the regular season at 4:30.
Southern Fulton 57 Fort Hill 31
Warfordsburg, Pa. – Southern Fulton (14-7) hosted Fort Hill in a non league matchup and came away with a 57 to 31 victory. Lindsey Hollenshead led the Indians with 19 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 8 steals. Jesse Colvalt added 16 points and 4 rebounds. Drew Gordon contributed 11 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 5 steals. Southern Fulton will host McConnellsburg tomorrow at 4:30 in their final game of the season.
Fannett Metal 65 Forbes Road 27
Willow Hill, Pa. – Fannett Metal (15-6, 8-4 ICC) hosted Forbes Road (4-15, 0-14 ICC) in a make up game and downed the Cardinals 65 to 27 in an Inter County Conference contest. The Tigers put three players in double figures. Brynn Hartman had 13 points, Katie Johns and Morgan Ritchey added 11 points. For the Cardinals Shelby Harnish had 7 points and Mara Broadwater added 6 points. JV – FM 50 – FR 25 (FM – Jenna Hoffman 22 points FR Hannah Skiles and Shelby Harnish 6 points) Fannett Metal’s regular season is over and they will wait for results from later games to determine their playoff seeding. The Cardinals play 2 games on Saturday, traveling to Shalom Christian and then, returning home to play Johnstown Christian.

Usually you associate a double-header with baseball, but with poor weather the last few weeks, we are seeing a few Basketball double-headers with the playoff cutoff looming. McConnellsburg traveled to Shalom Christian Academy and downed the Flames 45 to 36 in a non league contest. Zander Sipes led the Spartans with 13 pts, 5 assists, and 2 steals. Walker Funk added 12 points, and Dominick Reed had a double double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
McConnellsburg (10-12) then, boarded their bus and hosted CVCS and fell 59 to 53 in a non league match. Dominick Reed led the Spartans with 21 pts, 12 rebounds and 8 assists. Austin Johnson chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds, while Walker Funk added 11 points and 6 rebounds. McConnellsburg Coach Josh Lowery commented, “It was a very tough and exhausting day for us, with the double-header and key players missing didn’t help us any. Even though we lost our last game, I’m very proud of our young men. Players stepped up today. It was nice to see our under classmen put in good work. I learned a lot as a first year coach, will only get better from here. So until next year…”
Northern Bedford 63 Forbes Road 24
Loysburg, Pa. – Forbes Road (9-11, 5-9 ICC) limped into Northern Bedford and fell to the Panthers 63 to 24. JV – NBC 28 FR 17. The Cardinals will host Williamsburg Saturday afternoon in their final game of the regular season.
