Shippensburg Eases Past Patriots, 77-47

The Shippensburg Greyhounds scored the first 10 points of the game and never looked back as they beat the Red Land Patriots 77-47 on senior night in a non-conference regular season finale at Shippensburg.
The Greyhounds, 15-7, didn’t allow a Red Land point until the 3:26 mark of the first quarter and finished with a 22-6 lead after one.  The lead stretched to 24 at halftime, 40-16.
Coach Ray Staver was able to substitute liberally as 11 Shippensburg players scored on the night led by Collin Taylor with 17.  He was joined in double figures by seniors Jacob Frey and Adam Houser, both with 10.  Kyle Hannon paced Red Land, which finished the season 1-21, with 14, including 4 three’s.

Shippensburg is currently ranked 8th in the District 3 PIAA standings and would be in line to host a first round playoff game Monday, February 18th pending the outcome of other games.  Pairings will be announced Sunday.
