Forbes Road 48 Fannett Metal 44

Waterfall, Pa. – Forbes Road (8-9, 5-7 ICC) staved off a fourth quarter rally from the Tigers to return to the win column.  Fannett Metal (7-12, 3-9 ICC) led 13-9 after one period before a Justin Garman three at the halftime buzzer knotted the game 22-22.  Forbes opened a 40-31 lead through three periods, but Fannett Metal rallied in the final stanza.  The Tigers nailed four three pointers in the quarter to close the lead to 46-44.  The Tigers totaled nine three-pointers as a team.  A last-ditch three fell short as the clock ticked away, and Forbes added two free throws to cement the win.  Hunter Hill was the lone Tiger in double figures, draining six three-pointers en route to his 21 point night.  Grayson Hall (18) and Justin Garman (11) paced the Cardinals’ offense.  Cardinal coach Pete Hall commented, “In typical Forbes-Fannett fashion, the game had to come down to the wire.  We had a comfortable lead early in the fourth quarter, but Fannett got hot from behind the arc and ultimately got a very good late look for the win that we didn’t contest very well.  We had a few good looks down the stretch that didn’t fall, and they got hot and had the momentum late.  We’re glad to survive a tight one after losing the last two.”  Forbes Road hosts McConnellsburg on Friday.  Fannett Metal visits Southern Fulton on Friday.
