Southern Fulton 43 Northern Bedford 33
Loysburg, Pa. – It took a big fourth quarter for Southern Fulton (9-4, 8-2 ICC) to subdue a feisty Northern Bedford (2-11, 2-8 ICC) team 43 to 33 in an Inter County Conference contest. Drew Gordon led the Indians with 12 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Lindsey Hollenshead added 12 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Jessie Covalt contributed 7 points, and 5 rebounds. High scorer for the Black Panthers was M. Cottle with 12 points. Indian Assistant Coach Amy Fischer commented, “After being down the entire game, we used a huge 4th quarter, outscoring NBC 17-5 to take the win. We made a few adjustments offensively to score a couple of quick buckets in the 3rd, the momentum shifted in our favor and defensively we got the stops that we needed. It wasn’t pretty but we’ll take it.” JV – SF 31 NBC 28 (Jalyn Hann 10 points). Southern Fulton is scheduled to host Fort Hill on Wednesday.
Tussey Mt. 66 Forbes Road 25
Saxton, Pa. – Many opponents will tell you that Tussey Mt. (11-2, 10-1 ICC) is a very tough place to play. Forbes Road (4-11, 0-10 ICC) found that out the hard way as they fell to the Titans 66 to 25. The Cardinals were led by Madison Hays with 10 points. Tussey Mt. put 3 players in double figures; Lexi Weimert 16 points, Kailee Leonard 14 points, and Sophie Brumbaugh 11 points. Cardinal Coach Jamie Gelvin commented, “Tough place to play. They did a good job of being patient and moving the ball to get open looks. Hats off to them, they are a quality team.” JV – TM 27 FR 18 (TM – Haylie Taylor 13 points, FR – Shelby Harnish 8 points). Forbes Road will travel to Fannett Metal on Thursday for a 6:00 start.
Everett 63 McConnellsburg 23
Everett, Pa. – McConnellsburg (2-13, 1-9 ICC) ran into a tough Everett (11-1, 9-0 ICC) team and fell 63 to 23 in an ICC contest. The Warriors came out hot in the first quarter, out scoring the Spartans 31 to 8 and never looked back. JV – EHS 24 – MHS 20. McConnellsburg will host Mercersburg Academy on Tuesday (1/29) The JV game is scheduled to start at 4:30 with the varsity game to follow at 6:00.
Fannett Metal 68 Southern Huntingdon 54
Willow Hill, Pa. – Fannett-Metal (11-4, 7-4 ICC) hosted Southern Huntington County in an ICC South divisional matchup. The Tigers came away with a 68-54 victory. The 2nd quarter proved to be the difference as the Tigers outscored the Rockets 23-16. Fannett Metal got scoring from M Ritchey 18, Hartman 15, Adams 9, Johns 9, K Ritchey 8, Rotz 7, and McClure 2. Southern Huntingdon’s scoring came from Cantrell 35, Wilson 7, Leidy 5, Greenland 3, Whitsel 2, and Garlock 2. JV – FM 62 SHC 32 (FM – Hill 17 and McGee 12 , SHC – Mcllure 13 and Miller 9) Fannett Metal will host Forbes Road on Thursday at 6:00.
