Willow Hill, Pa. – For the third game in a row the McConnellsburg Spartans found themselves in a dog fight. But for the Spartans, (7-9, 4-6 ICC) the third time was not the charm as Fannett Metal (7-9, 3-6 ICC) held on for a one point win as time ran out for a 49 to 48 win. Timber Brookens and Hunter Hill led the Tigers scoring, both netting 15 points. Walker Funk led McConnellsburg with 13 points and 5 rebounds, while Dominick Reed added 11 points and 15 rebounds. JV – MHS 77 FM 65 (MHS- Zander Sipes 20 points) Fannett Metal will travel to Shalom Christian Academy today (1/26), while McConnellsburg will travel to Everett on Tuesday.
Southern Fulton 58 Forbes Road 45
Waterfall, Pa. – Southern Fulton (9-6, 7-3 ICC) rebounded after losing a heartbreaker the night before by beating Forbes Road (7-7, 4-5 ICC) on the road 58-45. Gabe Stotler dropped 27 points and 4 rebounds for the Indians, and Josh Morris added 12 points , 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Justin Garman led three Cardinals in double figures, drilling six three pointers en route to a 20 point night. Logan Deshong and Grayson Hall added 12 a piece. Cardinal coach Pete Hall summarized, “Justin Garman had a strong shooting night. Our positives stopped there. We flat out got humbled tonight. We still have a lot of work to do before we can claim to be a good basketball team.” JV – SF 37 FR 12 (SF Konner Pittman 17 points). Both teams return to action on Tuesday as Forbes Road will host Tussey Mt. and Southern Fulton will host Northern Bedford. Both games begin at 6:00.
