The Waynesboro Indians picked up their 12th win of the season(12-2) with a hard fought 75-66 win over the Shippensburg Greyhounds Tuesday night in Mid Penn Colonial action. The Indians trailed by one at halftime, 33-32, mostly on the strength of 18 first half points from senior Jay Alvarez. He finished with a game high 27 points. Cole Rhyne led a balanced second half attack to finish with 22 points.
For Shippensburg, Collin Taylor led the team with 23 points and 11 rebounds despite picking up three fouls before halftime. He was joined in double figures by senior Adam Houser with 17 and Jayden Statum with 13. Statum also added six assists. The Greyhounds are now 9-6 overall after dropping their second game in a row.
Shippensburg returns to action Friday night when they visit the Greencastle-Antrim Blue Devils. Game time is 7:30. Listen on WRGG, 93.7 or watch on www.midpennbroadcasting.com.
