The Shippensburg Lady Hounds edge James Buchanan 55-53 in overtime Friday night in a Mid Penn Colonial Division girls basketball game.

Shippensburg led 26-24 at halftime, but the Lady Rockets had a 22-20 second half advantage to force OT. The Lady Hounds outscored JB (3-4) 9-7 in the extra period.

“The girls played hard,” JB coach Jenny Lauthers said. “The first quarter (outscored 18-9) and foul shooting (9 of 17 for the game) added to our defeat. We made some late mistakes and had a few miscues turning the ball over.”

Carly Sollenberger and Maggie Strawoet each scored scored 16 to lead JB. Chelcie Forrester led Ship with 19 points and Tori Rumbaugh added 17.
