BOYS
The Greencastle- Antrim Blue Devils got contributions from ten players and defeated the McConnelsburg Spartans 69-63 at Greencastle Saturday evening. The Blue Devils used a big first quarter outscoring McConnellsburg 22-15 to propel them to their third win of the season.
The Blue Devils were lead by two players who came off the bench, Kobe Jones- Green and Josh Anderson with 11 points each, Jason Freeman and Thomas Lewis each had nine, Zach Cole netted eight points and JT English six.
The Blue Devils shot 43% and 31% from three point range to improve to 3-8 on the season.
McConnellsburg placed three players in double figures as Kolby Brown had a game high 15 points, Dominic Reed had 14, Lucas McClain 13 and Colton Mellott added nine.
The Blue Devils will be off until Friday January 11 when the host James Buchanan.
GIRLS
The Lady Blue Devils made it a doubleheader sweep of the Spartans defeating McConnellsburg 43-28 to improve to 8-2 on the season. McKenna Rakaczewski scored 13 points, Lydia Crist was also in double figures with 11 and Sayge Wilhide had nine including two crucial three pointers in the fourth quarter to stave off a Spartan rally.
The Spartans took a 12-10 lead at the end of the first quarter, Greencastle outscored McConnellsburg in the second quarter 16-7 to lead by seven at the half. The Blue Devils allowed just nine points in the second half, outscoring the Spartans 18-9 to register the win.
McConnelsburg was lead by Maddie Ross who scored all of her game high 15 points in the first half. Katlin Truax added six points for the Spartans.
The Lady Blue Devils will host Everett on Monday night at 7:30 p.m. Mid Penn Broadcasting will live stream the game.
