Southern Fulton 45 Forbes Road 35

Waterfall, Pa. – Southern Fulton (3-2, 3-1 ICC) traveled to Forbes Road (1-4, 0-4 ICC) and picked up a 45 to 35 ICC win. Jessi Covalt led the Indians with 15 points. Drew Gordon and Lindsay Hollenshead contributed 14 and 6 points in the win. Quincy McMath paced the Cardinals with 13 points while Mara Broadwater added 8. Cardinal Coach Jamie Gelvin commented, “The girls played hard tonight and didn’t quit.  We’re also getting better every game so I can’t ask for much more than that. Our typical slow first quarter killed us, but we played them pretty even after that.  SF is a good team, Covalt and Gordon are quality post players, and Hollenshead handles the ball well. They are also coached very well making them that much more difficult. I’m happy that we competed so hard and made it a decent game.” JV – SF 27 – FR 16 (SF L. Rhoades 9, FR H. Fannett Metal 54 McConnellsburg 37

Willow Hill, Pa. – Fannett-Metal (4-1, 2-1 ICC) hosted McConnellsburg (1-7, 0-4 ICC) in an ICC matchup that saw the Tigers earning a 54-37 win.  FM showed no signs of a holiday lull as they jumped out to a 12-7 1st quarter lead and extended it to 29-14 by the half.  At one point the Tigers had a 24 point 4th quarter lead only to have a determined Spartan squad whittle that to 14 and force an FM timeout.  The Tigers were led in scoring by Katie Johns 21, M Ritchey 19, and Hartman added 8. Kylie Brown led the Spartans with 10 points and Katelyn Truax added 9. JV – FM 56 MHS 30 (FM- Hill 13, Hockenberry 10, and Hoffmann 10, MHS- Perry 8 and Brown 8) McConnellsburg will travel to Greencastle on Saturday, January 5, which is part of a 4 game girls/boys double header starting at 3:00. Fannett Metal will travel to CVCS on Saturday for a 2:15 start.
