Boy’s Basketball 1/3/19 Cardinals Sink Flames

Chambersburg, Pa. – Forbes Road (3-4) stopped a three game losing streak with a victory at Shalom Christian. The Cardinals turned a 14-11 deficit after one period into a 25-21 lead at the intermission. Shalom surged back in the third period behind a barrage of three point goals, with the teams trading the lead before Forbes ended the period ahead 42-39. The Cardinals stretched the margin at the free throw line through the fourth quarter, converting 9 of 12 chances to finish the 59-48 win. Forbes was paced by Grayson Hall’s 26 points. Justin Garman added 12. Shalom got 15 points from Caleb Roseman and 12 from Stephen Wycoski. The Flames buried nine three-pointers on the evening, with Roseman nailing five. Cardinal coach Pete Hall commented:  “We put together a more balanced performance with our entire lineup making contributions.  Our overall effort was much better after a sluggish Christmas tournament performance.  We took care of the ball a little better this evening, and our success in getting to and converting at the free throw line was the difference in the game.” JV – Shalom 43  Forbes Road 38 (SCA -Shank 14, Diehl 10 FR – Clippinger 11, McGowan 11) Forbes Road will host Southern Huntingdon on Monday, January 7, at 6:00.
