Everett 64 McConnellsburg 47

McConnellsburg, Pa. – Everett traveled to McConnellsburg (2-2, 2-1 ICC) and downed the Spartans 64 to 47 in a league matchup. Dominick Reed led the Spartans with 17 points, Colton Mellott had 12 points, and Kolby Brown added 11 points. McConnellsburg Coach Josh Lowery commented, “It’s hard to come out on top with 17 turnovers to their 5. We played a great first half with it being 27-29 at halftime. But fouls late in the game put us in trouble as they shot well from the line. JV Everett 48 McConnesburg 29. The Spartans will play in the Fannett Metal Christmas Tournament on December 28, at 6:00 against Shalom Christian Academy.

Tussey Mt. 93 Forbes Road 58

Saxton, Pa. A fast paced first half finished with Tussey Mountain leading 46-36.  The Titans stretched that lead to 70-43 by the end of the third period and cruised to the win over Forbes Road (2-2, 1-2 ICC) Tussey put four players in double figures, led by Matthew J Leonard with 26 and Devin Swope with 24.  Chad Morningstar chipped in 16 and Dawson Rightenour 11.  Cardinal Grayson Hall led all scorers with 27 points, adding 13 rebounds.  Justin Garman added 14 points and Logan Deshong 10 points.  Cardinal coach Pete Hall commented:  “We traded baskets in the first half and were in the game at the break.  Tussey switched defenses to slow us down in the second and we couldn’t keep pace.  We just couldn’t find an answer to slow them down.” JV FR 36 TM 32 (Matt Clippinger 16 points 11 rebounds, Kaden Kuhn 15 points) (Forbes Road’s JV came back for the win after trailing 21-2 at the half.) Forbes Road will return to action on December 28, at 4:30 in the Claysburg Holiday Tournament against Bedford.

Southern Huntingdon 69 Fannett Metal 46

Willow Hill, Pa. – Fannett Metal (3-2, 1-2 ICC) hosted league rival Southern Huntingdon and fell 69 to 46. Timber Brookens led the scoring for FM with 21 points. The leading scorer for SH was Ryan Hammons with 20 points and Ryan Harper added 19. JV SH 50 FM 35. Fannett Metal will return to action on December 28, in the Fannett Metal Christmas Tournament at 7:30 against Maryland School for the Deaf.

Southern Fulton 59 Northern Bedford 48

Loysburg, Pa. – Southern Fulton (2-1, 2-1 ICC) won their ICC South matchup at Northern Bedford. The Indians were led by Justin Morris’s 12 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists, 7 steals and 2 blocks. Southern Fulton led 32 to 17 at halftime and cruised on for the win. Dylan Melton led the Indians in scoring with 16 points while adding 5 rebounds, 3 steals, and 3 assists. Colby Whiteside chipped in 9 points. C. Diehl led Northern Bedford with 20 points. JV – SF 49 NBC 31 (SF Colby Whiteside 20 points) Southern Fulton will compete in the Berkeley Springs Holiday Tournament against Hancock on December 27, at 6:00.

Shade 62 McConnellsburg 53

Central City, Pa. – McConnellsburg (0-5) was down by 5 at halftime, but was outscored by the Panthers 12 to 4 in the third quarter and fell 62 to 52 to Shade in a non league game. Katelyn Truax led the Spartans with 13 points and Matty Ross added 11 points. Shade put 3 players in double figures; Taylor Rapshy 18 points, Elaina Spinelli 16 points, and Kayla Mogg 12. McConnellsburg returns to action at the Claysburg Holiday Tournament against Bedford on December 28, at 3:00.
