Sparked by a big fourth quarter the James Buchanan Lady Rockets defeated Northern 44-36 Friday night in a Mid Penn Colonial Division basketball game.

Northern led 27-25 after 3 quarters, but JB (3-3) blitzed the Polar Bears 19-9 in the final quarter to pull away.

“We had a great finish,” JB coach Jenny Lauthers said. “We stayed calm and did what we needed to. We hit some key foul shots in the fourth quarter. Cass (Martin) and Mag (Strawoet) had to work extremely hard for their shots. It was a great team effort.”

Cass Martin (17 points, 11 rebounds) and Maggie Strawoet (15 points, 11 rebounds) led the Lady Rockets. Reilly Heinbaugh added 4 assists.

JB doesn’t play again until Jan. 4 at Shippensburg.
