GIRLS SWIMMING
Central Dauphin 102, Chambersburg 68: The Rams won all three relay races to outdistance the Trojans in a Mid Penn Commonwealth swim meet Thursday at Chambersburg YMCA.
“We had a nice meet in spite of what the score may indicate, as CD seemed to dominate the points earned in the relay events,” Chambersburg girls coach Donnie Miller said.
Freshman Liv Terrazas captured two races for the Trojans (0-3, 0-3 MPC), taking first in the 100 butterfly (1:16.02) and 100 backstroke (1:11.22)
Chambersburg had three other individual winners: Maddie Hinton took the 100 freestyle in 1:05.80, Emily Stroble was first in the 400 free in 5:12.24 and Emma Grove won the 100 breaststroke in 1:26.48.
Miller said, “In the 24 individual races for the meet, the girls accomplished 12 personal-best times. These improvements were very noticeable and the girls are learning how to compete with quality opponents and use the suggestions about efficiency and race strategy provided by the coaches.”
