2nd half dooms JB girls basketball

Big Spring exploded for 41 second-half points and rallied past the James Buchanan Lady Rockets, 61-43 in a Mid Penn Colonial Division girls basketball game Tuesday.

JB (1-2, 0-1 MPC) led 23-21 at halftime, but the Big Spring turned up the defensive pressure in the second half and outscored the Lady Rockets 41-20 the final 2 quarters.

“We had a let down in the third quarter,” JB coach Jenny Lauthers said. “Their pressure forced too many turnovers (35) on our part.”

Cass Martin had a big game for JB, scoring a team-high 21 points, pulled down 14 rebounds and had 8 steals.
