Willow Hill, Pa. – After two close games this season, there was no reason to believe the first round of the District V Playoffs would be any different. The Tigers and Cardinals did not disappoint. Billy Peppernick scored the games only goal for Fannett Metal (14-4-1) to give them a 1-0 win over Forbes Road. Luke Coffman had 6 saves in goal for the Tigers. Tiger Coach Greg Best commented, “It was a battle of local rivals, and a hard fought game. Forbes Road played very hard tonight.” Forbes Road ended its season with a record of 9 wins and 9 losses and their first trip to the playoffs in years. Fannett Metal will move on to the semifinals against the winner of the Rockwood/Berlin matchup on Tuesday, October 30th, at a site and time to be determined.
