Central Dauphin 3, Chambersburg 1: The Trojans spotted CD wins in the first two sets, won the third 25-23, but dropped the fourth game, 26-24, in a Mid Penn Commonwealth match Thursday at CASHS Field House.
Chambersburg assistant coach Bobby Culler said, “We just couldn’t get over the top tonight. Both teams fought hard, but in the end, CD was the better team.”
Ashley Adams racked up 14 kills and two blocks for the Trojans, and Marlee Wrights had eight kills and five blocks. Ally Davis also had eight kills, along with 20 digs and eight service points.
Ansley Runk had seven points and 15 assists, Robyn Stepler had 20 assists and nine points, Taylor Myers dug up 39 balls and added 10 points and Raelyn Johnson contributed 15 digs and five points.
The Trojans (11-7, 8-6 MPC) will now await the official power rankings from District 3 to determine its pairing in the district tournament. Currently, Chambersburg is ranked No. 12, which, if it stays the same, would send the Trojans against No. 5 Wilson (13-3) at Cumberland Valley on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 3 p.m. in the first round.

Carlisle 4, Chambersburg 3: In their final regular season game Thursday, the Trojans let a 3-0 lead get away in a Mid Penn Commonwealth loss to the Thundering Herd.
“Even though we scored the first three goals of the game, they were outplaying us,” Chambersburg coach Ed Franchi said. “Carlisle just wanted it more than we did, and I have to give them credit for coming back the way they did.”
Gabby Lecuona tallied the first and third goals for the Trojans — her 22nd and 23rd of the season — assisted by Brooke Huntsman and Lauren Ocker. Hana Bellows assisted on the second goal, which was scored by Ocker. Whitney Dorcely had seven saves.
Franchi said, “I hope the girls learned a hard lesson tonight and come out ready to play in out first district game on Tuesday. There was quite a bit on the line today, and unfortunately we just din’t come out ready to play.”
Although not official yet, it appears the Trojans (9-9, 4-8 MPC) will get the No. 13 seed in the District 3 Class 4A tournament and will play their first-round game Tuesday at No. 4 Ephrata (16-1-1).
