Mechanicsburg 3, Chambersburg 2: The Trojans nearly rallied to tie the Wildcats, but Mechanicsburg held on to win the non-league game Wednesday to end Chambersburg’s season.
“It was another extremely hard-fought game,” Trojan coach Dani Clutter said.
Adyson Finkle scored unassisted for Chambersburg (0-16-2, 0-10-2 MPC), and Lexi Schooley earned the second goal, assisted by Courtney Kirby.

Clutter said, “The girls this season have grown tremendously as a team and as field hockey players. We may not have ended up where we wanted record-wise; however the girls kept an extremely high spirit and wanted to learn and fight in each game.
“There was a roller coaster of emotions, from the coaches and the players, but at the end of the day it was truly a great season. Lessons were learned, the team bonded, the coaches collaborated and the girls put effort into every moment.”
