CRESAPTOWN, Md. — The Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers were defeated for the first time in Mason-Dixon Christian girls volleyball competition this season as they dropped a 3-1 decision to Calvary Christian on Friday.
Calvary won the first game 25-18, but the Blazers (17-3, 12-1 MDCC) came back with a 25-23 win in the second game. Calvary claimed wins of 25-18 and 25-22 to secure the match.
Stat leaders for the Blazers: Mackenzie Householder 28 assists, 6 digs, 2 kills; Tahra Kennedy 7 kills; Hunter Timmons 8 kills, 2 digs, 3 aces; Taylor Heck 6 aces, 2 kills; Emilee Beam 9 kills, 5 digs, 5 aces; Isabel Beard 8 digs, 3 aces; Kerri Potteiger 5 digs, 3 kills; Ryleigh Timmons 8 assists, 2 aces; and Kaitlin Provard 5 kills, 3 blocks.
Calvary won the JV match 2-0.
The Blazers can wrap up the MDCC regular-season title by beating Heritage at home today.
