MPC Championships: Chambersburg entered three girls in the Mid Penn Championship golf tournament on Wednesday at Armitage G.C. and all three qualified to compete in the District 3 Championships.

Defending MPC champion Mary Kate Norcross finished fifth with a score of 81, Heather Sanbower shot 86 to tie for eighth, and Megan Brandt finished with a 99 to tie for 23rd.

Abby Han of Hershey won with a 77 and led her team to the team title with a score of 253. Chambersburg took third with 266 behind runner-up Central Dauphin (261).

Greencastle-Antrim’s Amanda Steier tied with Sanbower for eighth with an 86. Also qualifying for districts was Ella Lowry of Waynesboro, who shot 90 to place 13th.

The District 3 tourney is Oct. 5-6 at Briarwood G.C. in York.
