Chambersburg 3rd in home match: The Trojans hosted a Mid Penn event at Penn National Iron Forge on Wednesday and placed third as a team behind Hershey and Central Dauphin.
For Chambersburg, Mary Kate Norcross and Heather Sanbower each shot an 82, which tied for third behind Hershey players Amanda Gerrish (79) and Abby Han (81).
Also for the Trojans, Megan Brandt scored 100.
Trojan coach Mark Yost said, “That was by far Heather’s best career round. I think her best before that was 98. I knew she was capable of it; everything today was just real solid.”

GIRLS TENNIS
Cedar Cliff 3, Chambersburg 2: The Trojans (5-4, 0-2 MPC) lost a tough Mid Penn Commonwealth match to the Colts on Tuesday.
In singles, Chambersburg’s Madison Mellinger produced a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Lauren Giovagnoli. In doubles, the Trojans’ No. 1 team of Cally Papoutsis and Alexis Parra won 6-2, 6-1 in their match.
Mellinger and Hope Sprecher also won the district doubles match, 8-6.
“It was a tough loss today,” Trojan coach Josh Barwin said. “We will learn from our mistakes and move forward to playing Central Dauphin tomorrow.”

FIELD HOCKEY
Mifflin County 2, Chambersburg 1, OT: The Trojans rallied from a 1-0 halftime deficit to tie the game after regulation, but the Huskies scored a game-winner in overtime.
Chambersburg (0-5, 0-4 MPC) tied the game on a goal by Jayden Seilhamer. Kortlin Yetter assisted on the first goal for the Huskies, then scored the game-winner.
GIRLS SOCCER
James Buchanan 1, Chambersburg 0: The Trojans were handed their third straight defeat by the Rockets. Chambersburg is now 4-4.
