Fannett Metal 3 Mercersburg Academy 2
Willow Hill, Pa. – Fannett Metal (2-0) picked up their second win of the season defeating Mercersburg Academy in 5 sets. (25-21, 23-25, 25-16, 16-25, 15-6) Lynnzie McClure led the Lady Tigers with 14 service points, 4 aces, and 5 kills. Kierstin Black had 14 service points and 9 assists. Haleigh Dunkle had 5 kills, Jealee Stouffer 4 kills, and Sydney Bartley had 6 aces. Lady Tigers Coach Keri Daniels commented, “Tonight was a competitive game. We started off hot and worked well as a unit. We had some errors in the middle of the second game, but came back in the 3rd. We went back and forth until we had 2 back-to-back aces from Lynnzie McClure and Mercersburg made some costly errors to put us up 10-4. After that, it was back and forth until the end. Game 4 didn’t look pretty for us. We just dug a hole we couldn’t seem to come back from, but I think it was the push we needed to come back. Game 5 starting off with a nice kill from Jealee Stouffer, a block from Lynnzie McClure and some Mercersburg errors. We ended the game with a kill from both Jealee, and Haleigh and then, point 15 with an ace from Haleigh. Very proud of how they are coming together this season.” Fannett Metal will host Shalom Christian on September 10. JV FM 2 MA 0 (25-15) (25-10)
