The Greyhounds celebrated Senior Night against rival Big Spring at Shippensburg’s Robb Field. Seven-year old Liam Kepner threw out the first pitch for both teams as he continues his two-year battle against brain cancer.
Big Spring led 1-0 early but the Greyhounds rallied to take a 2-1 lead after the first inning.
Big Spring tallied three runs in the top of the fifth to take a 4-2 lead into the last of the sixth inning.
Shippensburg (10-2, 7-1 Colonial) came back with four runs in the bottom of the sixth to win the game 6-4 and maintain their hold on the top spot in the Colonial Division.
Big Spring (5-10, 2-6 Colonial) got a home run from Olivia Monismith.
The Greyhounds got a solid game in the circle from Emily Wenner, who allowed nine hits and four runs, only one was an earned run. Morgan Fetter doubled for the ‘Hounds.
Wenner and Sami Barmont each had two hits and Amber Orndorff scored twice.
The ‘Hounds travel to Boiling Springs Thursday for another division game.
