Shippensburg Track and Field

The Shippensburg Greyhound boys track team won the Mid-Penn Colonial Division title on Wednesday by blasting rival Big Spring 124-26. The girls also beat the Bulldogs 89-61 to move into second place behind the champion Boiling Springs Bubblers.

It was the first championship for the boys since the current seniors were freshmen.

The Shippensburg boys used their overall depth to sweep seven different events- They swept the Bulldogs in the 100, and 400 meter dashes and the pole vault, high jump, triple jump, shot put, and discus events. Kevin Suero and Isaiah Houser each won two events for the ‘Hounds- Houser also added a third place.

Ishmael Kirkwood won the two distance races for the Bulldogs.

Teddi Powell won two events for the girls by winning the one-mile and the two-mile races. Cassidy Funk and Kaelyn Myers each contributed 11 points to the Greyhound cause.
