Shippensburg baseball gets first win with 2 out 7th inning rally

Chandler Durf hit a two out two run single in the top of the seventh and the previously winless Shippensburg Greyhounds defeated the Greencastle-Antrim Blue Devils 4-2 on a rainy afternoon Tuesday. Durf was brilliant on the mound for the Greyhounds allowing just three hits thru six innings of work, and only one hit in the first five innings.

Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the sixth Nathan Starliper hit a run scoring double and scored on a throwing error to give the Blue Devils a 2-1 lead.

Tanner Rock pitched 6 2/3 innings for the Blue Devils and left the game leading 2-1. Nathan Starliper relived for the Blue Devils and allowed two runs to score. Greencastle put runners at first and third in the bottom of the seventh but were unable to score.

Shippensburg improves to 1-7 and Greencastle falls to 5-4,
