HAGERSTOWN, Md. – Grace Academy scored a pair of goals in each half and handed the Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers a 4-0 loss Thursday in a Mason-Dixon Christian Conference girls soccer game.
Morgan Taylor scored three goals for the Knights, who handed the Blazers (3-1, 2-1 MDCC) their first loss of the season.
“We did some good things but couldn’t capitalize on the scoring sheet,” CVCS coach Paul Lundy said. “We had a couple early 1-on1s with the keeper called back after playing through balls for offsides. Those calls were close and a few I thought were clean, but the official saw it differently.
“Grace was able to control the midfield with good passing, and then they took advantage of their speed on the wings to get open looks at our goal. We need to continue to improve our passing game and work to connect multiple passes and build up an attack. The girls played hard and never quit, which I am very proud of.”
The Blazers play this afternoon Shalom Christian Academy.
