Lady Indians Fall in State Tournament

Linden Hall 56 Southern Fulton 34

5-3 Southern Fulton (19-6) traveled to Warwick High School on Saturday afternoon and fell to 3-2 Linden Hall (19-5) by a score of 56-34 in the first round of the PIAA Class A state playoffs. Linden Hall jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first and led by 9 points at halftime. The Lions pulled ahead in the third and cruised to a 22 point victory. Ava Hull and Lindsey Hollenshead led the Lady Indians with 10 points a piece. Lindsey Hollenshead also led in rebounds with 13 followed by Drew Gordon with 9. Linden Hall high scorer was Tahri Phillips with 19 and Hetta Saatman with 11. Southern Fulton Coach Meagan Mellott commented, “Honestly, we were in the game at half, only down a few buckets. We haven’t seen a team as athletic and as tall as Linden Hall this season. I think we did a great job at fighting for rebounds and keeping tabs on their post players. Unfortunately, we just got tired and couldn’t keep up late in the game. Having said that, I couldn’t be more proud of this group of girls. Expectations were unknown coming into the gym in November, and Its easy to see now how hard these girls have worked to have another successful season. We have a lot of work to do in the off season, and I know they’re ready for it.”
